Why don't I see a retailer I expect?

TL;DR. If a retailer you expect isn't showing, it's almost always one of four things: the product isn't listed on that retailer's site yet, it's out of stock there, the retailer doesn't sell online, or we haven't ingested that retailer yet. Here's how to tell which, and what to do.

The four reasons

Pour Now shows the market the way a shopper sees it, so a retailer only appears when a shopper could actually buy your product there.

1. The retailer hasn't listed your product on its site yet. You may have the placement, but the product isn't on that store's digital shelf, often because it's out of stock or the site hasn't been updated. This is common right after a new launch or placement: there is usually a delay between selling into an account and the retailer listing your product online. Your account team can use this to hold retail partners accountable for getting you on the digital shelf. Chain gap analysis in Product Analytics shows exactly which stores are missing you.

2. Your product is out of stock or unavailable there. If it's out of stock on the retailer's site, that retailer won't appear in your Listing, on purpose, so shoppers aren't sent to a dead end.

3. The retailer doesn't sell online. Some retailers don't offer any way to buy online in a given market, so we have no measurable path to purchase to route to.

4. We haven't ingested that retailer yet. Our coverage keeps growing. If a specific retailer matters to your business and can sell online, tell us, and we'll work to add them.

What to do

  • Check whether it's an out-of-stock or a listing gap using chain gap analysis.
  • Send us your account-sold data so we can add the retailers you work with.
  • For a specific important retailer, email help@pour.now. If they can sell online, we'll work to add them; if they can't, we can point them to partners who can help them get there.
